On 12 November 2018, I found this mystery bedspread in a charity shop in Wales. It is a highly skilled embroidery with twelve regimental badges that were all active, and some only, in the First World War. There was no name or label on it but the subject matter was so unusual, and the quality of the entire piece so good, I wanted to find out more about it. Its story has taken me and my family on an amazing international and often time travelling journey. This has included Ypres in 1914, a British actor in Hollywood, St Paul’s Cathedral and various military organisations around the world.
